PADI Basic Freediver Course

Description

The PADI Basic Freediver course is a great first step for developing solid freediving skills. You learn basic freediving principles and focus on practicing breathhold techniques in our on-site pool! Completion of this course will also allow you to join our regular Freediving Training Pool sessions held twice a week, where you can connect with experienced local freedivers and continue to hone your skills ahead of the open water season! Price includes GST. To enroll in the PADI Basic Freediver course you must be 12 years old or older, and complete the PADI medical clearing you to dive. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required. The PADI Basic Freediver course consists of two main phases: -Knowledge development through independent study with the PADI Freediver eLearning -Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques, static and dynamic apnea, and proper buddy procedures. Goal - static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet. Equipment: No equipment is required for this course, use of masks, weight belts, and fins is included. If, however, you have your own gear - please do bring it with you! Make sure to bring your own swimsuit and towel. Paperwork: You will need to complete the PADI Medical form.

Cancelation Policy

Course registrations and training materials are non-refundable, however we get that life happens - give us a call if you're in a pickle and we will happily work with you to make your course work! For open water courses and pool classes (Pool and Class, certification dives, refreshers, Discover Scuba, etc.) - please call us to reschedule a minimum of 3 business days before the start of your course to avoid a rescheduling fee. For splash sessions, private pool bookings and freediving practice sessions - registration is nonrefundable, however it can be moved to future dates if changed a minimum of 3 days prior to the event, or can be returned as store credit for a future booking. No-shows are unfortunately non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please call us at 403-243-4616 for rescheduling after the deadline, or for any cancellations!
