The lure of the deep. There’s something exciting and mysterious about exploring deeper dive sites while scuba diving. Sometimes it’s a wreck that attracts you below 18 metres/60 feet, and on wall dives it may be a giant fan or sponge. Whatever it is, to scuba dive with confidence at depths down to 40 metres/130 feet, you should take the PADI Deep Diver Specialty course.
This course will teach you about the safe uses of Nitrox, considerations regarding the physiological effects of increased Oxygen in your breathing gas, how to analyze cylinders for Oxygen content, and how to plan Nitrox dives using your computer.
You'll cover topics such as:
- Specialized deep diving equipment.
- Deep dive planning, buddy contact procedures and buoyancy control.
- Managing your gas supply, dealing with gas narcosis and safety considerations.
-PADI Adventure Diver or Higher
-At least 15 years old
Included in Course:
-Four open water deep dives
-Your own mask, snorkel and open-heel fins.

What you need to do:
-Register for the course!
-Your textbook will be held for pickup or delivered based on your shipping preference
-Read through your textbook and complete the Knowledge Reviews at the end of each section. Completing the Quick-Reviews throughout the book is highly recommended.
-Call us when you're ready to book your dives. Deep dives are held in Waterton on select weekends during the summer.
*Please note that our local lakes are cold! Drysuits are highly recommended!
PADI Deep Diver Course
Your crewpack will contain a medical waiver that you are required to fill out. You will need to physically answer 'YES' or 'NO' to all the questions asked. If you have any 'YES' answers - no worries, you will need to get a doctor to sign off prior to being allowed to participate in the pool portion of the course. Please note this is a requirement to being able to get in the pool. If you come to class with a 'YES' and no Doctor's approval, you will be required to reschedule.
