Imagine descending below the surface of a clear mountain lake to explore a well-preserved wreck. Interested? If you’re ready to discover a hidden world where few have ventured, then the PADI Altitude Diver Specialty course is for you.
Learning to adjust your dive plan for the reduced surface pressure at altitude is an important part of the course.
You'll cover topics such as:
- Altitude dive planning, organization, procedures and techniques.
- How to adjust your dive computer for altitude diving
- How to avoid problems and handle emergency situations, if they occur, at altitude.
-PADI Open Water or Junior Open Water Certified
-At least 15 years old
Included in Course:
-Two open water altitude dives*
-Your own mask, snorkel and open-heel fins.
-Our mountain lakes are cold, it is recommeneded you do your dives in a drysuit.

What you need to do:
-Register for the course!
-Your textbook will be held for pickup or delivered based on your shipping preference
-Read through your textbook and complete the Knowledge Reviews at the end of each section. Completing the Quick-Reviews throughout the book is highly recommended.
-Call us when you're ready to book your dives. Dives are held in Banff and Waterton on select weekends.
*Please note that our local lakes are cold! Drysuits are highly recommended!
PADI Altitude Diver Course
Your crewpack will contain a medical waiver that you are required to fill out. You will need to physically answer 'YES' or 'NO' to all the questions asked. If you have any 'YES' answers - no worries, you will need to get a doctor to sign off prior to being allowed to participate in the pool portion of the course. Please note this is a requirement to being able to get in the pool. If you come to class with a 'YES' and no Doctor's approval, you will be required to reschedule.
