COVID MEASURES

Statue with Mask
Updated Protocols as of September 20/21

As you all have heard, the Government of Alberta has announced new restrictions as we deal with the latest COVID-19 Health Emergency. In order to continue to keep our pool open, we will be implementing the new Restrictions Exemption Program.

Beginning Monday, September 20, 2021, as part of the new provincial Restrictions Exemption Program, we will require proof of vaccine in order to participate in training. This is the only onption that will allow us to continue to offer courses.

This information will only need to be verified once, either in person or digitally, by one the following options:

- AHS administered vaccination documents

- Immunization records downloaded from MyHealth Record App

- MyHealth Record App display

- Govt QR code (coming soon)

- Proof of negative Covid-19 test taken within 72 hours – per course

*Tests must be privately-paid COVID-19 PCR or rapid tests completed within 72 hours.

*Tests must not be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories

Students with one dose as of September 20-October 25 may participate in training. After October 25, proof of two doses is required.

Please note that we will be making exceptions for individuals who are unable to be vaccinated due to legitimate underlying medical reasons. In this case, we will require a formal signed letter from your physician not recommending vaccination at this time due to an underlying health condition. We do not need to know the details of the medical reason. All letters can be emailed to scuba@diveshopscuba.com or show us in person.

You can find more information on the Government of Alberta website here: https://www.alberta.ca/covid-19-public-health-actions.aspx

We respect everyone's right to choose to be vaccinated. We are implementing these measures to be able to keep our team and students safe, and be able to continue to remain operational.

We have so much fun being able to share our passion for the underwater world with our students. We would hate to have to close down our facility - again. So we hope this transition period goes as smoothly as possible but please bear with us as we are in "uncharted territory". Our top priority has always been and still is, keeping our community safe and we will continue to strive to do so.

Please contact September or Chris at scuba@diveshopscuba.com or call us 403-243-4616 with any questions, and thank you for your support!
